Alexis Reyes Mortero brings size, experience, intelligence, and relentless work ethic into the Arkansas Wolves midfield. A 6’3″ defensive midfielder with championship experience at both the junior college and NAIA levels, Alexis has built his journey through consistency and a willingness to keep growing.

Alexis grew up in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, where he became a three-year captain and all-conference performer at Poplar Bluff High School.
He then moved into the college game at St. Louis Community College, where his teams compiled a 54-13-2 record, captured three consecutive NJCAA Division I Region 16 championships, and reached the NJCAA national tournament twice.
Alexis continued his career at Rocky Mountain College, joining the Battlin’ Bears in 2020. His time there included another conference championship and an NAIA national tournament appearance.
He graduated from Rocky Mountain College in 2023 with degrees focused on Health & Human Performance, Sports Management, and Business Management — then remained connected to the program as an assistant men’s soccer coach.

At St. Louis Community College, Alexis was part of a program that won three consecutive NJCAA Division I Region 16 championships.
Those teams also made two NJCAA Division I national tournament appearances, giving him early experience competing when the stakes were highest.
After transferring to Rocky Mountain College, Alexis added another conference championship and an NAIA national tournament appearance to his journey.
Winning became part of the standard — and that mentality is something he now brings into the Pack.

He began working with players in his hometown of Poplar Bluff, helping athletes prepare for opportunities at the college level and beyond.
He later coached with Real Billings FC and joined the Rocky Mountain College men’s soccer staff as an assistant coach.
That dual perspective — competing as a player while also helping develop others — gives Alexis a deeper understanding of preparation, accountability, and leadership.
